Navy Corpsman
From Undead Assault II Guide
Field Medics are essential to any platoon. Their role is to ensure the platoon is physically healthy and stable for the completion of missions. Their goal is to keep as many members of the squad alive as possible, as well as to resuscitate them if they perish. They may administer steroids to temporarily bolster the attack speed of a soldier.
Navy corpsman is unlocked by default. However, I totally disagree with people that say that all newbies must take it; I'd rather have a pro NC with me than 3 guys that don't know a shit. But if no good people take it, of course newbies should take it, better than nothing.

Skills and Abilities
Revive
Revive is the most important skill the Navy Corpsman brings to the battlefield. It enables him to bring incapacitated marines back into the action, restoring the squad to full strength and increasing the chances for mission success. Reviving takes 7 seconds, during which time the Corpsman cannot perform any other action, except rifle butting. So, Corpsmen should be protected by other marines while the Corpsman is reviving fallen squad members. Furthermore, when going to a location where a player has died is often a risky venture as someone has already died there. There should usually be at least one person escorting an NC when going away from the base to revive someone, preferably in front of the NC.
A Navy Corpsman must reach level 3 before they can put any points into revive.
Blood Transfusion
Blood transfusion (BT) is a heal-over-time(HoT) ability that also restores some energy to the target. The amount of health and energy restored is improved with each point put into this skill. The 3rd rank of this skill costs less energy to use than the target gets from having the skill used on them.
Nano Injection
Nano injection (NJ) is an instant healing ability which, at higher levels, also cures poisons, wounds, and broken bones. Note that while the healing takes place immediately, it takes a short amount of time to administer the injection. This time decreases as the Corpsman's proficiency in the skill improves. The amount of healing offered by the injection starts out small, but increases as additional training is received. BT is typically max levelled before NJ as the energy gained from BT is often more valuable than curing a temporary affliction.
Basic Combat Training
Marines go through rigorous training while in boot camp. While there they the basics and begin mastering the art of shooting, reloading, aiming and maneuvering with their weapons. Adds 6 bonus life, 5 bonus damage, and reduces reload time by .6 and unjam time by .15 seconds per level, as well as the following:
- Level 2 enables burst fire (must be turned on to take effect).
- Level 3 enables rifle-butting (must be turned on to take effect).
- Level 4 adds a bonus of 10ms to movement speed.
- Level 5 enables automatic fire (must be turned on to take effect).
Anabolic Steroids
Anabolic steroids is a free skill that the Corpsman can use to increase the attack rate of their target. It has a synergy bonus with both Blood Transfusion and Nano Injection: points placed into either of those skills will also increase the effectiveness of anabolic steroids.
Tips
- Make sure to train the revive skill as soon as possible.
- It is beneficial to place a few points into Blood Transfusion even if you prefer Nano Injection. Blood Transfusion is more efficient for restoring lost hitpoints. At later levels you can also make mana out of nothing. Since Blood Transufusion is on a different cooldown than Nano Injection, one can be used while the other is still on cooldown. This can save lives.
- When someone dies, don't rush out immediately. It takes 7 seconds to revive someone, during which time you are immobile and defenseless. Take some backup.
- Riflebutt remains active during the revive process. If you have it, it can fend off weak enemies. Going prone also significantly reduces the chance of being hit.
- You should be aware of the HUD (the scoreboard on the top right corner). It will display the current health status of your squad and alert you to injuries, broken bones, and toxins. It's not necessary, however, as some people find it gets in the way of the playing field and most players can heal anything except their own deaths.
- Get in the habit of typing -dead to see where any dead players are. In this hectic game, it is easy to miss a message informing about the death of another player.
- In the Warcraft III options, try turning on "show health bars all the time". This makes it much easier to spot vulnerable players as well as hard to spot enemies.
